Hi friends!

SHORT SUMMARY:
Radeon 7500M, agp support working, but AGP cannot be activated
DRI not activated with latest radeon driver from dri.sf.net

A bit longer:
My X cannot activate DRI in the following combination:

Acer TM654
linux-2.4.22-pre6-dis6
Intel I845 chipset, support compiled into agpgart
radeon 7500M
debian/sid with XFree86 4.3.0 from http://www.penguinppc.org/~daniels/sid/i386
radeon-20030719-linux.i386.tar.bz2 from dri.sf.net
        fixed kernel for mmu_rc4_features EXPORT_SYMBOL

agp kernel log:
Linux agpgart interface v0.99 (c) Jeff Hartmann
agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 439M
agpgart: Detected Intel i845 chipset
agpgart: AGP aperture is 64M @ 0xec000000

But starting X I get the following in the syslog file:
[drm:radeon_cp_init] *ERROR* radeon_cp_init called without lock held
[drm:radeon_unlock] *ERROR* Process 485 using kernel context 0

My XFree86.0.log says:

So interestingly
(WW) RADEON(0): [agp] AGP not available
but I do not know why?

I found a thread on this from June 2003 and it should have been fixed in
cvs, but as I used radeon-20030719-linux.i386.tar.bz2 I though the fix
is included!

Please tell me how I can cope with this, and please Cc me since I am not
subscribed ATM. Thanks a lot.

Best wishes

Norbert
