you could look at a register dump of the windows drivers and reverse engineer support. Also the xfree86 driver makes some references to the two display pipes, so you may be able to extrapolate support based on that. I'm not sure of the status with regards to the i830/45/55/65 parts documentation. intel has databooks for the i810 on their website, but that chip only had one crtc. Do the databooks that the xfree developers have have the info for the second crtc, or does intel consider that to be propietary? You could try asking intel for databooks...
