That's right! At least, this is a temporary workaround so I can go on
experimenting with 
OpenGL programming. 
 
But I really hate not being able to play bzflag during lunch time ;-( 
 
Nevertheless it's good that I do now know that it is probably the DRI module
causing 
these problems.

That would be great. I'd be happy if I could be of any assistance but
probably there is 
nothing I can do on this topic at the moment.
