When the Xserver crashed XFree86.0.log reported something like 'Couldn't
initialize memory manager';after enlarging the memory for the graphics chip
to 32MB [before that it was 8MB] and configuring XF86Config appropiately
everything worked fine [restart was due to a still runnning xdm ...]

Still in 1280x1024 resolution there are lines cut off at the bottom of the
screen, so that the 'lowest' 5% of the screen is simply black [the view is
not crushed, the lines are missing]. Where is a starting point to look at?
