Hi

I have tested the drivers from planetmirror with my 340M Chip on my Laptop and
got the same Problems I had with the dri-cvs version.

This are the Patches I tried:

Xfree86 4.3.0 from gentoo and Xfree86 4.3.99.? with dri trunk
- dri enabled
- glxgears ~360 FPS
- only one resolution (1400x1050) works

Xfree86 4.3.99.? patched with
http://bugs.xfree86.org/attachment.cgi?id=1130&action=view
- dri enabled
- glxgears ~330 FPS
- all resolutions work

Xfree86.4.3.99.? and the tar.bz2 from Nana Kofi Asumadu
- dri enabled
- glxgears ~300 FPS
- only one resolution (1400x1050) works

Once I talked to someone in the dri irc channel aboute the problem with the
resolution and he told me that the code for the detection of the TFT modelines
is a part of the xfree86 and not of the dri project. Thats all I know about this
problem.

About the performance. I don't know how fast the 340M is but I think it can
render more than 360 FPS in glxgears if the driver works well. Is there someone
with better results?

I have no Idea what I should post to help you fixing this bug. Please say what
you need and I will upload the files to a webserver as fast as possible.

Finaly something about this Buglist. Some People are not happy that this Buglist
is used as a forum. But there are no other possibilities for non-developers to
post their problems with a driver or someting else. Nobody subscribes to a
maillist if he is interrested in just one driver. I think a web-forum on the dri
page isn't the worst idea.
