hi I have a notebook with a Athlon and 'SiS 650' video
When I was using Debian/stable, I installed the packages for Debian by [EMAIL PROTECTED] (alongside XFree 4.1 ) they worked fine: I had excellent 3D acceleration, could play games etc etc I now use Debian/unstable ; now instead the packages for sid (from deb http://people.debian.org/~daenzer/dri-trunk-sid/ ./ ) do not work : I get Segmentation Fault . I have then tried to install the packages from dri.sf.net I installed common-20040516-linux.i386.tar.bz2 and sis-20040516-linux.i386.tar.bz2 but still it segfaults (installing was difficult: sis_drv.o is not compatible with XFree 4.3.0 in Debian so I had to install xfree from http://people.debian.org/~daenzer/dri-trunk-sid/ and then put symlinks all around) I attach a typescript that shows that there is a problem when sis_dri.so tries to test SSE support BTW: the 'install.sh' in the above packages common-* and sis-* overwrites prexisting files, and there is no way to unistall and put back the originals; moreover IMHO 'install.sh' does not log its actions enough a. -- Andrea Mennucc "E' un mondo difficile.
