becase the DRM is undergoing experimental surgery at the moment, and the radeon is the crash test dummy ... I think two drivers need to be converted really, so that the commonalities become apparent.... this stuff is not being pushed to the kernel until all drivers use it at any rate, there are too many corner cases with it... I'm hoping to get some time to go over it all again (I've reviewed the patches as I've check them in....) but I'm trying to see the big picture in terms of BSD, savage etc...
