Descent3 (didn't check HG2, just downloaded the Descent 3 demo) seems to always use projected textures - this does now work at all with the r200 driver, so all texture coordinates will be completely wrong. It's not that simple to fix otherwise I'd have fixed it a long time ago... Descent 3 works fine here with some hacked driver, unfortunately the changes screw up some other games badly. (Note that with the current driver you also won't get working shadow projectors in ut2k3/ut2k4 (can very easily be seen in dm-antalus, some trees should have large shadows), this is because of the same reason.
