Ok, some progress here.

Managed to get to the point I was before 400 FPS, and to *reproduce* the
lock-up.

The lock-up seems to occur whenever I activate the "AGPFastWrite" option. The
"EnablePageFlip" option is enabled, but does not seem to have an impact
either on the lock-up, neither in the (glxgears) performance.

Strangely, "AGPMode" "4" option also does not seem to bring positive results
(and neither seem to be responsible for the lock-up)!!

The only thing which made a difference: reducing the depth from 24 bits to 16
bits.

In 24 bits, I get 180-200 FPS; In 16 bits - 390-410 FPS. Respectively, *very*
slow for this system and considerably slow. :(

So, although glxinfo prints "direct rendering: yes", modules (agpgart,
via_agp, i2c_core, i2c_algo_bit and radeon) are being loaded, drm/radeon
initialized (dmesg | grep drm), the performance does not seem to correspond
to it...

Any tips where else I should look for ?

Best regards!

Paulo
