Hi all,

I just uploaded a new set of experimental snapshots built on our new
snapshot build host kindly sponsored by Eric Anholt. They can be found
on http://dri.freedesktop.org/~fxkuehl/snapshots for now. Once the daily
build is up and running again they will be available from the usual
place http://dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots.

Please test these snapshots (*-20050130-linux.i386.tar.bz2) and report
any problems you may find, especially with the install script.

The new snapshots contain the new linux-core/shared-core DRM for 2.6
kernels. On 2.4 kernels the old linux/shared DRM will be built.

The default module format changed in Xorg CVS. However, the snapshots
are still built with the old module format because that's the format
still in use in the latest Xorg releases. If you compiled Xorg from CVS
with the new module format you'll have to restore the last release first
before installing the new snapshots.

AFAIK the new module format is already used at least in one
distribution, namely Gentoo. It would be easy to set up builds for both
module formats. Then users would have to choose which module format is
the correct one for them. I suggest to make dlloader builds available in
http://dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots/dlloader/... for those who know
that they need them.

So much for now,
  Felix
