Hi, I have a Radeon 9200 AGP card, and have manually compiled XOrg 6.8.2 for my dual P4 Xeon (with hyperthreading enabled) Linux 2.6.10 system. However, I am finding that the Xserver locks up when I run celestia 1.3.2 with hardware acceleration at full screen, 1280x1024. I have tried both the latest linux-core and linux-2.6 radeon DRI modules from CVS at dri.freedesktop.org, with similar results. (The linux-core crashed faster.) Basically, the Xserver sits and spins on one CPU and can't be killed.
XOrg 6.8.1's server seems to be a lot more resilient, and so I have reverted to using it. In fact, XOrg 6.8.1 runs celestia a lot more smoothly than 6.8.2. I have attached my xorg.conf file. $ /sbin/modinfo drm author: Gareth Hughes, Leif Delgass, José Fonseca, Jon Smirl description: DRM shared core routines license: GPL and additional rights parm: cards_limit:Maximum number of graphics cards parm: drm_debug:Enable debug output vermagic: 2.6.10 SMP PENTIUM4 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4 depends: agpgart [EMAIL PROTECTED] chris]$ /sbin/modinfo radeon author: Gareth Hughes, Keith Whitwell, others. description: ATI Radeon license: GPL and additional rights vermagic: 2.6.10 SMP PENTIUM4 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4 depends: drm,i2c-algo-bit Cheers, Chris ___________________________________________________________ ALL-NEW Yahoo!
