AGP can do both. Every AGP compliant device has to support the
System RAM -> video RAM part. The other one is optional. Optional
not only in the graphics card but in the northbridge, so there are some
cheap chipsets that don't support it. This lead to many card
manufacturers not supporting it in their cards and drivers.
Highend graphics cards like the Wildcat support it.
