Hi, I installed the latest X.Org server from Debian (6.8.99.901.dfsg.1-2) and decided to try DRI (I have a Radeon 9500 Pro).
When X.Org starts with AGPFastWrite enabled it immediatly kills the machine (no network, no serial console, no sysrq). The last lines I see on the serial console are: [drm:drm_addmap_core] offset = 0xe9000000, size = 0x00080000, type = 1 [drm:drm_addmap_core] Matching maps of type 1 with mismatched sizes, (524288 vs 65536) Everything works fine if I set AGPFastWrite to "false". For comparison I put the log of the working config here: http://kronoz.altervista.org/linux/working.txt (about 300KB) The log shows me starting X, waiting few secs and shutting it down. In the BIOS AGP Mode is set to 4, fast write can be enabled and disabled but in both cases when enabled it kills the machine. There is also a "AGP Driving Control" which is set to Auto (in Manual mode it lets you enter a hex number between 00 and FF - no clue about this option). I can live happily even without fast writes, so it's not a big issue :) Full lspci and dmesg (with drm debug=1) below: 00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.
