Hmmm. Fair enough. But I reinserted the patch last night and just now, 14 hours
later, it crashed. There's no mistaking it, this IS the patch. I can only think
of one other explaination. That patch bumps the driver version. Maybe there is
some feature that is only being activated from that version onwards. I'll try
just changing the version and see what that does.
