Lately, the 3D driver on my laptop (iBook 2001 dual usb, powerpc, Debian
GNU/Linux testing/unstable) has been slowing down in certain conditions.

glxgears runs fine, crack-attack has a good framerate until a red 'garbage
block' comes down and armagetron is unplayably slow.

I have checked my X log, and I found a weird error in it (see below).
According to the old XFree86 log that was in the log directory, this error
did not occur and had a "decent" framerate in OpenGL games. It would seem
X has trouble allocating a range of 256 registers in IO space.

I think this regression, if it is one, is younger than 3 months.
