Examples of apps that will cause a lockup: compiz, any rss-glx screensaver,
Google Earth...
Sometimes the lockup isn't total - Xorg will crash, GDM tries to restart it, it
will crash again (the driver's ringbuffer is corrupt?), GDM tries to restart,
ad nauseaum... In either case, a reboot is the only thing that gives me back
control.
