The vblank-rework tree has been sitting around with ported radeon and i915 drivers for some time now, but users aren't seeing the power saving benefits because it hasn't been merged upstream yet.
Several drivers still need to be ported, but I don't have the test hardware: mach64 (?) mga r128 via The porting is straightforward and the wins are immediate in terms of reduced power consumption (assuming your CPU has a power saving idle mode of some sort). Any volunteers? math_b said he'd look at the mach64 driver... It would be great if we could finish this up and get it upstream soon.
