I am sorry for wasting your time, but I really had no idea that vesafb could be incompatible with the DRI driver, I had used vesafb and intel DRI on a different machine (32-bit, 915GMA graphics) for many years with no problem. Is this incompatibility something new? Is it documented anywhere? 2.
