On ubuntu 12.04 downloaded verified checksum built and ran self tests ran sample query ran sample queries from here: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/DRILL/How+To+Run+Drill+with+Sample+Data
A couple of trivial nits: * This link from Yash was very helpful: http://www.confusedcoders.com/bigdata/apache-drill/how-to-build-apache-drill-on-ubuntu-13-04 . The protoc install instructions in particular were useful. Might be worth pointing to that from INSTALL or including some of the info in INSTALL. * The INSTALL doc (which is part of the download) says to use git to download the repository, but of course you have the source at this point. Probably worth saying a few words about that for folks that aren't totally familiar with git. I'd hate to see someone download a particular stable version and then accidentally pull in the latest via git. I would not delay the alpha based upon the trivial items above. Looks great. +1 Keys ________________________________ Keys Botzum Senior Principal Technologist [email protected] 443-718-0098 MapR Technologies http://www.mapr.com On Sep 13, 2013, at 5:58 PM, Jacques Nadeau wrote: > Current counts: > > +3 Binding (Ted, Tomer, myself) > +7 Non-binding (Ben, Aditya, Jason, Jack, Lisen, Steven, Tim) > > Vote closes end of day today.
