When we overflow a bigint, we turn it into a negative number, other than 
indicating it overflowed:

0: jdbc:drill:schema=dfs> select 9223372036854775807 + 1 from data limit 1;
+------------+
|   EXPR$0   |
+------------+
| -9223372036854775808 |
+------------+

postgres:

foodmart=# select 9223372036854775807 + 1;
ERROR:  bigint out of range
