It would be very nice if Solaris could use the same "video4linux" APIs
as Linux for user space applications to talk to the tuner cards. I
recall that some people from FreeBSD have gotten permission to use the
v4l header files under a BSD license.
Personally, I think it is possible to use "video4linux" APIs which is
under BSD license in opensolaris. Because opensolaris license (CDDL)
does not conflict with BSD license, IMHO.
I would love to move my MythTV backend from Linux to something stable,
like FreeBSD or Solaris. The first OS to have DVB drivers that
MythTV can talk to and support ZFS wins :)
