We are working on 3D hardware acceleration project. Now, we hope
that we could open this project. The following is our proposal,
Synopsis:
Direct Rendering Infrastructure & 3D drivers
Community groups sponsoring the project:
This project has overlap with some Community Groups, like Device Driver
and X windows. Most jobs in Xorg have already been done by Xorg guys,
we mainly focus on solaris kernel parts. So, I'd like to put this project
in Device Driver Community.

Project description:
We have already ported open-sourced DRI(Direct Rendering Infrastructure)
to Solaris and enhance 3D performance for Solaris on x86/AMD64 platform.
Since we ported intel 3D drivers to Solaris, Solaris could support
3-dimensional hardware acceleration for Intel graphics cards.
This project is targeted to providing more 3D drivers for Solaris/Xorg.
Initially, we will provide 3D driver for ATI Radeon series graphics cards,
and some new-marked Intel graphics cards.
