Here's an opportunity for someone who wants to learn GLDv3 and working in the Solaris kernel to do something useful.
The older dnet card is still a GLDv2 driver. An effort to convert it to GLDv3 would not be terribly hard. I could probably do the work in a few hours myself. But rather than just performing the work, I wonder if someone else would like to have the opportunity to contribute and learn... for someone who understands NIC drivers in general, or has prior Solaris kernel expertise, it will probably take a couple of days. For someone learning NIC drivers and Solaris drivers at the same time, I'd estimate 2 weeks to learn enough to complete the work. It helps if you have hardware. But if you don't, I might be able to help you locate one. Its a PCI NIC. I'm willing to help anyone who wants to do this work, with answering questions and with any associated process work (PSARC, RTI, testing, putback, etc.) If you are interested, please reply to me privately. -- Garrett _______________________________________________ driver-discuss mailing list driver-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/driver-discuss
