The functionality is by no means identical. Sun's version, mpt(7D), now supports multipathing for SAS within the context of the MPxIO framework. For the Solaris 10 version, you need patch 125081-10/125082-10 or later for this support. For the version which is in Solaris Express, try build 70 onwards. I believe there are some small differences regarding ioctls that are supported, but iirc those are for LSI's raid management utilities. For Solaris you would use raidctl(1M). James C.
