How do I integrate my driver into ON? Could someone please post the
link or point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Its non-trivial, but you need to send a message to request-sponsor
detailing what you want to do, including more information about your
driver. Then someone within Sun should contact you to figure out how
to go about getting your driver integrated.
From your e-mail address, I gather this is another SSD type device on
a PCIe card?
Yes, it is for Texas Memory System's RS-20 PCIe flash-based SSD device.
Do you know how I can plumb for request-sponsors? Are they typically
Sun employees? Or some other entity?
Of necessity, they are Sun employees.
I have a bunch of suits that can handle business-type transactions if
this falls into that category. I just need to know where to start.
I'm half tempted to sponsor you myself. James McPherson is working on a
similar driver from a different vendor, also using blk2scsa... it would
be fun to do this work.
The sponsor will typically need access to hardware and code, and you
need to be willing to open source the results under CDDL. You'll also
have to sign (or really have a duly authorized representative of your
company sign) the Sun Contributor Agreement.
