Hi, I was recently awared rge in b116 caused performance issue in tx direction. The result of netperf was just 200Mbps in tx, but over 900Mbps in rx. It seems that a workaround for PCIE based realtek nic chipset caused the performace degradation. I think I fixed the issue by introducing hardware timer based polling mode into rge, which is the same way I did in gani. It is a little tricky way, but the tx performance was improved to 900Mbps with the modification.
I opened CR 6888015 for the issue, and I'm requesting for sponsor now. If you are interrested in the issue and want to try the modification, I prepared the modified source code in webrev format.
