Hi, I've been playing around with different updates of Solaris 10 and I noticed that basic ping times vary greatly between them. Each of the time below are performed over a Broadcom 57710 using the bnxe driver which I compiled for each version of Solaris. Read as... the same source code is used for each.
Server 1: HP xw8600 running Linux Server 2: Dell R710 running Solaris - connected back to back via 57710 cx4 - Solaris 10 u7 HP ping Dell: ~.045 ms Dell ping HP: ~.060 ms Solaris 10 u8 HP ping Dell: ~.090 ms Dell ping HP: ~.090 ms OpenSolaris build 134 HP ping Dell: ~.100 ms Dell ping HP: ~.160 ms Can these ping times between Solaris updates be explained? I've yet to dive into this but I was hoping someone might know of administrative/configuration related differences to account for this. Thanks, - e _______________________________________________ driver-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/driver-discuss
