Ok.

So are any of the HBA drivers that have source available better to
learn from than others? or should I just pick one?

I've been looking over the AAC driver since it's a product made by the
same company (Adaptec) as the one I'm working on, but it is a
different generation of products, so I'm not sure it's a good example.
