I have a dodgy USB disk for which I want to perform a surface analysis. After starting format/analyze/verify it stops a few minutes later with the message "Warning:Drive may be reserved or has been removed, aborting surface analysis." There are no entries to var/adm/messages when this happens.
I searched around and found this post from Jan 2009 (http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/4z3rn8EEcAtbIf89tTfL , the post is not in this forum) describing a similar problem when copying to a USB drive. A response from Strony Zhang says this is bug 6764573. This bug is closed as being the duplicate of 6819642, which is closed too because it's fixed. Reading the description of those bugs, I'm not sure if it's related to my problem since I have no Nehalem system. I have a Gigabyte motherboard with an AMD 770 + SB710 chipset. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
