Ahhh, thank goodness as nothing was making sense on this one. Great to be back to normal, but yes that is really a pretty big performance hit. Would you file a bug on that if you haven't already?

Thanks, Lee

Things will be good now. I had to hack d-a to use transaction-log.enable. I had thought I had reverted the change, but it had not. Very sorry about that. I'll have to fix d-a to be able to use such options from the config file or preferably the command line. I can see use wanting to do more such custom builds and having to alter a config file is less convenient than passing Hudson an extra param.

It is a bit disheartening to see the hit in performance with the log enabled, but Brian and Dave have been shown some numbers on this, so we will see what they come up with.

My apologies again for the sysbench snafu,
Patrick

Thanks for the update, where is Giuseppe going, I don't see it mentioned on his blog.

Something very strange is going on with the sysbench readwrite machine, I've rebooted it and will try again. All of a sudden getting very low numbers but not on the readonly machine or on the 48core machine. Did you happen to make any alterations to the OS at all?

Thanks for this, Lee.

It's possible / very likely it was me : ( I was trying to set up a transaction-log enabled param run for another branch and ran into some errors.

On an unrelated topic, Giuseppe Maxia is going to help me polish the US Energy dataset a bit more and then we'll release it to the world. Interestingly enough, he's also leaving MySQL next month (http://datacharmer.blogspot.com/)

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Joe,
Just FYI, I restarted your param build for sysbench readwrite as there were some runaway processes on that machine causing load to be extremely high and thus skew the benchmark results.

Thanks, Lee
