Hi!

I am going to try to reply to both lists :)

+1, but please wait until DBUG removal is complete (1 more day...)

Eh, factories are typically singletons, no? Which are typically defined
in a global scope with static methods, so I see no problem here. +1

What is the alternative?

Not much of one right now. Because of the pooled handlers we can not do much with THD specific bits. Long term there are some changes I want to make to our overall memory allocation to be more THD specific then what it is today (this comes from a conversation I had with Tridge about Samba and what he noticed in MySQL).

How do we link this set of field classes?

What do you mean? As far as which library to put them in? or something
else you are referring to?

Either we field/* link into one binary, or we end up with a libdrizzlefield.so which is used by the server. I am being a bit pedantic thinking about how the Makefile.am gets laid out :)

Cheers,
