You might be interested in pieces of the Google patch. The SMP patch is separate but it will be a few more days before we have it ready for the InnoDB 5.1 plugin. The SMP patch and the changes that Percona has published greatly improve SMP performance for InnoDB.
This is version 2 of the patch for MySQL 5.0. Version 1 for 5.0.37 was published in May, 2007. I call it the v2 patch to reduce typing. There are many other changes in the patch and most of them are documented at http://code.google.com/p/google-mysql-tools/wiki/Mysql5Patches.
