Ok. Fair enough. Makes sense to me. FWIW, Eric and I have been planning on getting some wrappers to his new lib using Swig right off the bat. We can pop out one for perl as an intermediate step, too. Also, since you are good with the Perl/C stuff, if might be interesting to walk through the swig C wrapper code that it makes with you (in your even more free time) and see if you have suggestions/feedback to give to the swig people. Obviously, that wrapper won't implement DBI, so it's still not actually a full win... but it's really no extra effort for us ... Eric's lib is coming along nicely.
