Historically we had a problem in MySQL where "no" was tossed around a
lot because it was "No, I personally do not want to do the work".
There was an assumption that all work had to be done "personally" if
an idea was suggested.
As far as blobs go, there is a call back point before and after rows
are handled for insert/update/delete. You could hook into that bit of
code if you wanted to do some sort of substitution.
