Hi!

This is not the same as the old patch I did for 3.23 (which is good!). I suggested to Mark we adopt the Postgres syntax since it buys us some level of compatibility with others. The reason for this is... queues :)

Reason for this? It is something we will be needing for network.com and it will allow some older users of 3.23 to migrate (BTW this patch was never placed in mainline MySQL).

Cheers,
        -Brian

I've created a blueprint for INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE RETURNING

The idea is to implement the RETURNING ketword, as described by

http://developer.postgresql.org/pgdocs/postgres/sql-insert.html
http://developer.postgresql.org/pgdocs/postgres/sql-update.html
http://developer.postgresql.org/pgdocs/postgres/sql-delete.html

RETURNING causes those DML commands to return a result set of the rows that they matched
