Has anyone given any deep thought to the database / schema issue?
In MySQL, schema is a synonym for database (I presume for a
checkmark on somebody's database comparison grid). It would be
nice to know what semantics attach to database, what semantics
attach to a schema, and, maybe, recognize that they aren't two names
for the same thing.
How does this work into catalogs? What do you think the structure
should be?
And yes, "CREATE SCHEMA" was a check mark from a list of "you must
have this for R3". Simplest bullet point on the list actually :)
