So, as many have noted, MySQL is a participating organization in the
Google Summer of Code, and Drizzle projects can be submitted as part of
the MySQL umbrella.

Padraig and a few others have begun writing up proposals to be submitted
to the GSoC committee, but we need to get more organized as a community
in regards to mentors and overall management of the GSoC stuff.

I'm interested to see if anyone would like to step up and be the Drizzle
GSoC community manager/coordinator? We really need someone who can do
the following:

* Pester (nicely) students and mentors to get their submissions and
reviews into GSoC.
* Keep in touch with students and mentors over the summer about progress
in their respective Drizzle projects.
* Give the Drizzle community updates via the mailing list or a blog on
that progress.

If anyone is interested in fulfilling this important role, please
respond to the mailing list! :)

Here is the wiki page currently used to document stuff on GSoC:

Cheers!

Jay
