As a result, we can perform shutdown and ping commands on servers

I inquired about a change like this way back when I put together
Connector/MXJ for mysqld, when I pursued the question a then I got a
thumbs down answer that revolved around have focused or targeted
binaries. I'm not sure those reasons are still particularly import
today. I think this change is a good idea now because it means fewer
parts for the new user to learn about.
