It came up all the time. Still does on the Interbase lists. But
nobody's come up with a proposal that seems useful for the purpose
intended. The problem is when to consider a record read. Given effort,
a record can be probed with a sequence of counts, for example, where not
finding the record is almost as informative as finding it. Another
problem is the shear volume of data produced.
So I'm not saying it can't be done, just that I haven't seen a good
model yet.
