What might be useful for admin/test foo is a plugin that just listens
on a port and say talks Telnet, then you can easily connect to it even
without a client. Handy in certain cases. It's close to what you made,
but a) socket involved [and what's the prob with that] and b) it's
still running daemon/multi-user.
