This looks terrible with respect to confusion about whether ?1 is an anonymous
placeholder followed by a digit, or a number placeholder. Not that the issue
could not be resolved, but why introduce the complication in the first place?

This seems the obvious choice to me ...

Anyway, probably best to pick whatever matches best what is already used out
there. Unfortunately different systems seem to use different styles :-(
