This has been done. I've added a few core team members as admins so they can start adding more users and such and start flushing out the calendar more.
It is up here: http://calendar.drizzle.org I'm still working on some privilege things and hopefully Lee and some others can start adding events. We'll be leveraging this calendar to replace the page on the wiki with events and for the newly redesigned homepage (yes, TBD!)
