I think it would be neat to see the client API do even more. The client API 
might be the perfect place to put some of the more advanced column types (such 
as IPv6 as an example). Since some of that is considered presentation stuff, 
having that done on the client API side makes sense and still ends up being 
less hassle for the application developers who just want to store and retrieve, 
say, IPv6, without having to do anything special.

The client API could simply do the translation to and from IPv6 formatting to 
bigint. More complex types than that might be interesting but, in general, 
having the client API do the heavy lifting for some of these sorts of things 
would be awesome.

Foreign keys might be another such example. I'm just throwing out ideas here. 
And, to be fair, it's before coffee :)
