Dear Co Translators, who helps Drizzle in every corner of this planet. We (almost all projects at launchpad) are at a quite enviable stage. something which any commercial vendor not yet achieved or probably could never!. The great Wiki effect!...or community effect i should say.. (Every language and culture is allowed to prepare their own recipe.... wow!)
But we have a small problem... There are a group of Shakespeare’s among translators in launch pad...inventing new words and phrases. whatever comes on their way, they just converts word by word. They are not even leaving the Nouns like "Drizzle" "Server". for them, (translated back to English) Drizzle = 'Tiny droplets of water falling.........' Server = 'Center of the network with a group of ......' and written in a poetic language of 1800's. The bad thing happened is: they are overwriting the good translations which already exist..i doubt their motivation. it took considerable amount of my brain cycles to decode few of such translated stuffs, that too with help of a dictonary. many times i could not stop hitting my head. we can see few 'contributors' jumping across all branches across all projects in launchpad and messing up translations. We need a cage to put them. Grrrrrr... Here is my humble request to genuine translators: There are considerable number of people who have difficulty in Read, Write and Understand English. (Read and Write remains the major obstacle) Our intention should be to enable them to use Drizzle easily. So, please consider it as opportunity to help others and spread the Drizzle user-base to every corner rather than to demonstrate language skills. something a translator could do (just suggestion): Read Technological articles in newspapers and magazines in own language from a "technical language study" point of view. This gives an idea how they present things.. how they call things.. Dear moderator, if there is a conflict between a drizzle community member and a jumping 'contributor', will you give preference to community member? I think our own community members will be doing the translation with proper understanding of the context and meaning of the message rather than someone outside. or is there anyway to put outside contribution for review by default? (your valuable time need not spend for this..people like me can take ownership/help on at least one language for review) do we have an option to block, say one of the translator from interfering in this project? Thank you, Jobin.
