+1 lowercase UPPERCASE as stated is for syntax as a coding style. Oracle uses UPPERCASE for DD objects, but I personally don't like it.
There will always be a case for and against. You have more important problems. Pick one way, and be consistent. I suggest the current core drizzle members take a vote or flip a coin. Document what is the Drizzle standard and start getting more cool instrumentation into the data dicrtionary.
