Hi,
I am an engineering student applicant for the Google Summer of Code 2010 and
would like to contribute to Drizzle through GSoC 2010. Though I don't have
much experience with open source development projects but I'm proficient
with C, C++, Java, SQL and Assembly Language and have a good exposure to
Operating Systems, Networking and Database Management Systems. Currently,
I'm working on the project "Credit Collection and Management System" as a
member of the Operations team (analysis and debugging) for Wipro Infotech
and Aircel.

For the past few days, I have been familiarizing myself with Drizzle and its
Modules. I have some knowledge as to how things work but it might be a bit
vague. However, I am particularly interested in the idea - "Replacement
Memory Engine" because I feel that it matches with my skill-set as I have
studies a full course on Data Structures as a part of my Engineering
curriculum. It would interest me to know about the Memory Replacement
Algorithms that are being used in this project. Are they similar to the
Replacement techniques of Memory Storage Engine used in MySQL? I have some
idea about implementing Page replacement in Lnux Kernel Modules, would that
be required? also where can I find the existing source code to become
familiar with the idea?
I would like to know in what ways could I contribute to this project and
what does Drizzle look for in interns applying for this project?
