FWIW, I'm not completely opposed to the idea of more teams. If there really is some intent for a group of people (who are not all in drizzle-developers) to collaborate closely around some branch, they should create such a team. When we started the work on 7.1 docs we could possibly have benefited from such.
But in practice I also see it as useful that you have to explicitly pull/merge commits from someone else, it makes you more aware of it and hopefully you'll look at what you are pulling a little. Then when some work is ready, a merge request is sent to one of the main branches. I've used ~drizzle-developers/* for the drizzle-7.1-packaging branch because it is a semi-official branch that just happened to miss the RC window.
