Thanks for the response Matt. I resolved it. I enabled PAM debug and that was pumping all PAM messages to SSH and caused this failure. Thanx, ~Sreedhar

Hi, tcpdump of port 22 shouldn't see anything about PAM - everything should be encrypted at that point. Could you save it to a file (tcpdump with "-w file.cap -s 0"), don't type your password, and send it? Matt
