In the 2.5 years since Dropwizard 1.3.0 has been made GA on March 14, 2018 (Pi day! <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_Day>) it has been one of the most successful releases of the Dropwizard project since its inception with regards to adoption and length of support. But all good things will come to an end and so does Dropwizard 1.3.x. The time and effort keeping Dropwizard 1.3.x up-to-date and fixing security issues without introducing breaking changes has grown over the past months and so *we will end support for Dropwizard 1.3.x on **December 31, 2020* in lockstep with the end of support for Jackson 2.9.x ( https://groups.google.com/g/jackson-dev/c/vqQsBKQLktU). Of course this doesn’t mean that you have to find an alternative to Dropwizard. Since its first GA release on December 9, 2019, Dropwizard 2.0.x has been very stable and migrating from Dropwizard 1.3.x only requires a small amount of changes to your application, if any at all.
