Hi all,

When we’ve checked the item in the workflow and approve it to the repository,
we typically want to then see the item record that’s just been created – to
double-check the metadata and permissions, and often to move it into another

>From my understanding from staff working in this area, in a previous version
>(probably v3 JSPUI) once you’d approved the item you’d be taken to the new
>record. However since we switched to XMLUI, and continuing through to v5.x,

As a workaround, staff had been manually navigating to the community and
finding the item in Recently Added items. Unfortunately with our latest upgrade
to v5, ‘recently added’ is no longer working in our most commonly used
collection. (It’s a closed collection so permissions are probably messing it
up, and/or possibly something’s buggy; have posted about it separately to
dspace_tech but the lack of response to date makes me think this isn’t going to
be easily resolved.)

We’re assuming that other institutions also want to check items after approving
them to the repository and wonder what your process for doing this is,
especially if you’re like us on XMLUI v5.x.

Thanks very much,
